It won't be long until it is fun in the sun on the Deschutes.  Winter is slipping away and it is time to dust off the rods and think trout. Tie some flies and let's go!  The upper portion of the river opens on April 26 (Pelton Dam to northern boundary of Warm Springs Reservation).  Before you know it the salmonflies will be out...bring on the big bugs, big flies and big takes. To Book on this site just click 'Reserve a Date' or give us a call at 541-207-3787 or 541-760-0956 cell phone

Welcome to Central Oregon, the high desert, and the home of the fabled Deschutes River meandering its way over 100 miles to the Columbia River.  It is here where we have spent good portions of our lives getting to know the finned creatures that inhabit these waters.  We invite you to join us on the Deschutes River guided trip of a lifetime and create memories of scenic beauty, rugged yet catered adventure, and of course bending your fly rod. Catch Wild Deschutes Rainbows or the ocean-going Deschutes Steelhead.

Deschutes River Outfitters is a one of a kind outfitter that offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all of our trips...we have done this long enough that we know you won't be disappointed.

FISHING SUMMARY

Lower Deschutes: Pelton Dam all the way to the mouth is open. The upper section (Pelton Dam to the Northern boundary of the warm Springs Reservation) opened April 26. Northern boundary to the mouth is open year round.
Still typical spring time action. This means mostly nymphing with some day to day dry fly possibilities if the BWO, March browns, or midges decide to pop and the fish look up. This also means that as we move later into May the stonefly nymphs will start crawling towards the banks and eventually start hatching. This will create some great nymphing and then the much anticipated epic dry fly fishing that everyone is waiting for to jump start trout season! Salmon fly dates are filling up FAST! If you want to hit this hatch, I'd call now.
